What is New Age Spirituality?
The New Age is a new wave in spirituality. It’s not a spiritual movement, nor an organization.
It came about the mid of the 20th century. Many have ascended and claimed the right to be non-denominational and spiritual where the freedom to believe is respected. It all began with gurus who came to the West & introduced to the public of the United States the spiritual heritage of India. Those gurus who were described in the book “Autobiography of the Yogi” by Paramahansa Yogananda were the most important kriya masters. They never were revealed before to the West. The most spiritual individuals in the 30s in the United States were all into Christian ideals and the churches brought them together to think about God. The spiritual direction was changed for the general public once the gatherings of the followers of kriya have begun. The followers have achieved great acknowledgment and were respected. The very essence of the West was merged into the Eastern mastery and we as New Age have started our journey.
The New Age is not at all new. It’s only a name. We have seen a few masterful individuals who tried to market the term New in a way as to attract followers and achieve a better conversion of the people into spiritual beings. The term “New” was not really opposed to the “Old”. We simply declared no heritage and discussed it as spiritual masters that we began a new fashion how we want to believe in God. The spiritual idea of the New is very likable by many. When you state, it’s new, people want to know more. And so we had it fueled by the idea, it’s no longer about traditions, about Christian belief systems, dogmatic teachings about God & dogma of the few who translated the Bible into a difficult modality that never complied with life.
The dogma is such an outdated idea about spirituality. When we seek the truth and want to learn about ourselves, we are faced with DON’Ts from dogmatic spiritual institutions. And we don’t resonate. When a child is being told by a parent, please don’t do this or that, he/she does not want to comply over time and says, I am done with this. It’s human nature. We cannot sustain growth if we are told NO all the time. There is no exploration. And we are faced with rules and conditioning is only hurting you and not helping at all. When a new spiritual person is trying to embark on a journey of spirituality, they want approval and guidance. No way they can feel good when you tell them NO. The NO statements were only for spiritual masters who already realized themselves and knew what was wrong and right. They knew that doing certain things in life would lead them astray. And again, it’s all was based on their personal spiritual journeys. In the eyes of God, no path is less or better. We are all using our own judgment for our specific growth path. And any moment of time you are either closer or farther from the truth you are seeking.
Those individuals who came to terms with the dogma of the churches & mosques, now are free. The New Age has resolved those inconsistencies that we held against spiritual establishments. We closed the doors to the issues that churches had with people. We no longer respond to DONTs. That leads to liberation and utmost conditioning of yourself to guide yourself and become your own guru.
The New Age is not a modality, it’s not a spiritual belief system. It’s not somebody. It’s all to do with you who are freeing yourself from the dogma of the few who decided for everyone else how a spiritual being is born. We are no longer complying. We are fully in charge.
